MERF鈥檚 Sue McLaurin Henry Scholarship is a need and academic-based scholarship for full-time students residing in Mentone and Valley Head Alabama who maintain at least a B average. Applications are open annually from November 1 through the first weekend of December. Scholarships are awarded in December for the spring semester in varying amounts between $300 and $450. This scholarship is sponsored by the Mentone Educational Resources Foundation in memory of charter board member Sue McLaurin Henry, an educator and advocate of providing educational opportunities for a lifetime of learning and aligns with the mission of MERF to enrich the learning and living of our community by coordinating resources.听
