Tutoring: Tutoring English Writing Lab
The English Department at ¾ÅÖÝÌåÓý offers an Associate in Arts degree and an Associate in Science degree focusing in English and designed for those students planning careers in secondary education or majors/minors in English. The course descriptions link on this page allows the students to access the college catalog which provides a list of courses offered by the department as well as programs of study for students pursuing a degree in English. Additional information can be obtained from the department office, college ext. *2231.
The department also administers the college's Writing Center. The Writing Center is equipped with thirty computers and a laser-jet printer. An English tutor is available to help students in ENR 098, a basic course in Reading and Writing. Tutors are also available to assist students in English 101, 102, and literature classes. The tutor's hours vary from semester to semester but are posted on the college website.
We also sponsor departmental events, such as the annual Arts and Humanities Speakers’ Forum, Arts Con, and writing workshops. Sigma Kappa Delta, the English honorary for two-year institutions as well as Aurora, the college’s literary journal is sponsored by the English Department.
