Financial Aid Programs


The Pell Grant is an entitlement program which does not have to be repaid. Any funds remaining will be paid directly to the student by check or direct deposit from the Business Office within 21 calendar days of the aid being posted on the students financial account.

Federal College Work-Study provides jobs on campus for students who need financial aid and who must earn a part of their education expenses. On campus work-study students can work up to 15 hours per week and are paid on the last working day of the month. Please contact the financial aid office for additional work-study information.

The Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant may range from $100 to $1200 per academic year and does not have to be repaid. It is based on the lowest Student Aid Index (SAI).

The Alabama Student Assistance Program Grant may range from $300 to $1200 per academic year and is determined by the lowest Student Aid Index (SAI).

The U.S. Congress and President Obama passed the Workforce Investment Opportunity Act in 2015 to create a customer-focused approach to investing in workforce activities. To determine eligibility you need to visit your local Career Center: Fort Payne 256-844-4709, Scottsboro 256-574-4512, and Albertville 256-891-7722. The TRA program helps workers who have lost their jobs as a result of foreign trade. To determine eligibility you need to visit your local Career Center: Fort Payne 256-844-4709, Scottsboro 256-574-4512, and Albertville 256-891-7722. 1. Creat an account - FSA ID
鈥 Go to (student and parent)
鈥 FSA ID doesn't change from year to year. If you've completed one, you may skip this step.

2. Complete the FAFSA: Free Application for Federal Student Aid

鈥 Click "Apply For Aid" or "Login"

Do you have a substantial decrease in family income from the tax information provided on your FAFSA? We may be able to adjust your income through a Professional Judgement to get you more Pell grant money. Contact the Financial Aid Office for more information.

3. The Department of Education will send you a SAR (Student Aid Report)
鈥 The SAR will indicate the approximate amount of student award according to the SAI (Student Aid Index) number.

4. For Direct Student Loan information
鈥 Visit after filling out the FAFSA
鈥 Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note (MPN) must be completed
鈥 To accept a loan, you must accept on your My九州体育 account.

5. 九州体育 will send you a notification email with a link where you will complete your financial aid requirements.
鈥 Read the requirements for Standards of Progress (SAP)
鈥 Complete all unsatisfied requirements
