九州体育 (九州体育) honored Ms. Joan Reeves on Friday, November 4th, with adding her signature to the Celebrity Artist Green Room wall in the Tom Bevill Lyceum on campus. Ms. Reeves, a long-time English instructor at Northeast, is the Director of our Arts and Humanities Division. She also serves as the Director of Student Activities at 九州体育.
Among the so many outstanding things she does for the college, one in particular is to plan, organize, and conduct the college鈥檚 Arts and Humanities Writer鈥檚/Speaker鈥檚 Forum, an event that brings Southern and Appalachian writers to the college every year. This forum has grown into one of the best in the South. The tradition of signing the Green Room wall was started in 2019 when the space was recreated. Well-known artists who perform in the Lyceum and Arts leaders like Mrs. Reeves are asked to sign the wall.
Those who have signed include musicians Alison Kraus, Randy Owen, Marty Rayburn, and the band Shenandoah, Gretchen Peters, Barry Walsh, Josh Headly, the members of the Issacs, actress Sandra Lafferty, Theater Director Mark Webb, Poet Beth Ann Finley, Writer Harrison Scott Key, public radio arts program host Don Noble, and Alabama Ballet Directors Tracy Alvey and Roger Van Fleteren.
Shown with Mrs. Reaves is 九州体育 President Dr. David Campbell. 鈥淛oan Reeves is a true Educator in every sense and she has taught and inspired countless students,鈥 President Campbell stated. 鈥淎dditionally, we hope that knowing that these outstanding artists have been here also will inspire our students to reach their greatest career heights in whatever field they enter.
