Visa Application Process

If you live outside of the United States, you must obtain a Student (F-1) Visa from a U. S. consulate before traveling to the US. A student Visa is permission to travel to the United States for purposes of study. After arrival, your I-20 and the I-94 card received at the Port of entry will allow you to remain on Student (F-1) Status. Please locate your nearest consulate or embassy to determine what is required for a visa appointment.

When do I need to apply for my Student Visa?
As soon as you receive your I-20 from 九州体育, you should immediately pay the SEVIS fee and apply for your F-1 visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate. If you are bringing dependents to the United States, you will also be required to apply for F-2 dependent visas.

How long does the process take?

4. Know your academic program and your school, and how they fit into your career plans.

6. Be organized. You will need the following documents.
   • I-20 from 九州体育 signed by an International Student Advisor and the prospective student.
   • Acceptance letter from Northeast.
   • Passport (Must be valid for at least six months after your proposed entry date to the U.S.)
   • One photograph (2 inches by 2 inches). See U. S. Department of State for photo guidelines.
   • Original financial affidavit of support and, if required, TOEFL scores
   • Evidence of ties to your home country (You must convince the consular officer that you are returning to your country.)
   • SEVIS fee payment receipt.
   • Dependents will need to provide proof of their relationship with the F-1 (marriage license & birth certificates) as well as an F-2, I-20, valid passport, and photograph.
