The purpose of the NSVA shall be to provide a fellowship of like-minded individuals in order to create a network of students, successful alumni and honorary members focused on academic, professional and leadership development. Objectives of the NSVA shall consist of:
Strive to ensure an effective transitioning to student life through any resources available to the association, institution, community and Veterans Affairs.
Establish an influential membership body, to partake in college and community activities and events while creating a positive image in the surrounding area through community service.
Build awareness within the college and community of the challenges, experiences and related needs of the student veteran and their dependents.
To develop and maintain an active relationship with our local communities, community organizations, community leaders and local businesses.
Act as an advocate for student veteran related issues.
Execute successful awareness and fundraiser events to aid local veterans and service member organizations within the guidelines of Internal Revenue Code 501(c) (3).
Provide outreach to potential student veterans, local schools and youth organizations.
Promote camaraderie through social events and activities, encouraging discussion of ways to grow and better the organization.
Meetings: October 23rd and December 11th (SC lobby in front of the Admissions Office at 12:30 pm)
Veteran Appreciation Week: November 5th Bake Sale, November 6th Bake Sale and Silent Auction, November 7th Silent Aucion, November 8th Veterans' Reception
